Company to hold Job Fair August 24, 25 in Longueuil
LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 22, 2007) - Global aerospace leader, Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is looking to immediately hire 100 skilled workers for its manufacturing operations in Longueuil, Quebec, to support its rapid paced growth. P&WC is a United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) company.

To help its recruitment efforts, P&WC is holding a Job Fair at its main manufacturing facility in Longueuil, Quebec, on August 24 and 25 to help fill 100 permanent, full-time operations positions. Positions available include machinists (multi-skilled machine tool operators), engine assemblers, sheet metal workers and operations inspectors.
As the No. 1 R&D investor in Canada's aerospace sector, P&WC has developed more than 50 new engines for various aircraft and helicopters in the past decade, a benchmark in the aerospace industry. It also has more than 20 new engines currently under development. In December 2006, the company announced a $1.5 billion investment in research and development over the next five years to create made-in-Canada engine technologies.
The company, which has over 7,000 employees in Canada, including 1,500 engineers at its research centres in Quebec and Ontario, is focusing its research efforts on creating the next generation of high performance and greener engines that surpass the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) most stringent standards for noise and emissions. It is currently working with over 20 Canadian universities and the National Research Council Canada on over 600 projects.
