Airbus A380 visits Montreal-Trudeau airport today

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 12, 2007) - Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) salutes today the first flight to Montreal of the world's largest commercial passenger jet, the Airbus A380. P&WC provides pneumatic and electrical power for the new aircraft with the PW980A auxiliary power unit, designed and manufactured in Longueuil, Que. P&WC is a United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) company.

The Airbus A380 began commercial daily service last month between Singapore's Changi Airport and Australia's Sydney Airport, equipped with the Quebec-built APU. The PW980A, which is the most powerful APU in commercial service, is performing flawlessly and accumulating several hours of operation each day.

The PW980A, rated at over 1,800 horsepower, sets new standards for reduced noise and emissions. It incorporates the latest technology advances in areas such as materials and engine controls to offer levels of dependability, durability and efficiency expected by major airlines. Hamilton Sundstrand, a United Technologies company, also collaborated on the program.
