LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - April 27, 2006) - Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC), a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company, has received two "Solidaire" awards from Centraide of Greater Montreal for its outstanding efforts during the organization's 2005 fund-raising campaign.
P&WC's Quebec employees collected a record $1,003,098 during last year's campaign, with a participation rate of 72 per cent and 204 "leader" donors ($1,000 or more). These remarkable achievements earned P&WC a Solidaire award in the category of "Leadership Giving Campaign", while Canadian Auto Workers (Quebec), Local 510 won a Solidaire in the category of "Trade Union Support."
P&WC is among eight corporations and organizations selected by juries of distinguished local volunteers to receive Solidaires in recognition of their involvement in the latest Centraide of Greater Montreal campaign.
"We've been a proud supporter of Centraide for 25 consecutive years, and I'm delighted that the incredible generosity of our employees and retirees has once again been recognized," said Alain M. Bellemare, President, P&WC. "We are already preparing for another successful campaign later this year."
