Canada Customer Service Centre Europe GmbH (P&WC CSC Europe GmbH) has
appointed Airgreen S.r.l., located near Turin, Italy, as a Certified
Installer of Altair Avionics' Smart Cycle+ and Data Transmission Unit
(DTU) for helicopter operators in Europe.
Airgreen offers engine support services to operators in Europe for the
P&WC PT6T and PW200 turboshaft engines. In addition to carrying out
maintenance for various types of operators, including Italian fire
brigades situated in various Italian regions, it has capabilities to
provide spare parts services. Airgreen also operates air

The SmartCycle+ data acquisition system provides helicopter owners
and/or operators with engine and airframe operational data. It
automatically records aircraft and engine parameters in flight,
producing engine trend and exceedance/event data that can be used by
maintenance staff and the aircraft owner to monitor the overall health
of the aircraft and engines. This data is accessed using Turbine
The DTU is an on-board wireless communications system through which
trend, exceedance and performance data is delivered to a central
database without operator intervention. It provides operators with a
low-cost means of downloading engine data using commercially available
GSM cell phone technology.
TurbineTracker(TM) automatically processes data for ground-based
analysis, which would normally take hours to process manually. The
result is an electronic foundation for a seamless aircraft and engine
data acquisition, retrieval, warehousing and analysis solution.
SmartCycle+ data and TurbineTracker(TM) are both compatible with Pratt &
Whitney Canada Corp.'s HECTM(R) (Helicopter Engine Condition Trend
P&WC CSC Europe GmbH is a joint venture of P&WC and MTU/Germany and
operates two modern service centres in Ludwigsfelde, Germany and
Southampton, U.K. The Southampton facility is conveniently located
adjacent to the Southampton International Airport. This
60,000-square-foot facility offers full repair and overhaul support for
PW100 and PT6T Twin-Pac(R), including two test cells, one for each
engine series. The Ludwigsfelde facility is located near the city of
Berlin and provides full repair and overhaul support for PT6A, JT15D,
PW200 and PW300 engine series. The 126,000-square-foot facility is
equipped with three state-of-the-art test cells.
